Methyldrostanolone (also known as Methasterone and Superdrol) is arguably the most effective and potent oral anabolic steroid to be utilized over the last decade. Superdrol is C17-alpha-methylated drostanolone, which allows it to be orally available. The only structural difference compared to Masteron is that Superdrol has C17-alpha-alkylation instead of the ester chain; remarkably, this simple structural difference makes Superdrol astoundingly more powerful. The name Superdrol is a combination of the words “super” and “Anadrol.” Superdrol is an awesome steroid for bulking. Nonetheless, because it yields very dry and hard gains with no bloating or water retention, some bodybuilders also use it during their cut. 

Methyldrostanolone was developed alongside other well-known anabolic agents such as drostanolone propionate and oxymetholone in the late 1950s by scientists who were looking to create a drug to destroy tumors. Sadly, this goal wasn’t achieved; nevertheless, they did find that the oral steroid promoted huge increases in lean muscle mass and strength. However, unlike drostanolone and oxymetholone, methyldrostanolone was never released as a medicinal product. Instead, Superdrol was released in 2005 as an over-the-counter "grey market" anabolic steroid. 

Methyldrostanolone is a structurally altered form of drostanolone, with an added methyl group at the C17-alpha position. Furthermore, similar to drostanolone, the methyl group at the C2-alpha position heightens methyldrostanolone’s resistance to metabolism by the 3-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase enzyme in skeletal muscle tissue, which considerably increases the anabolic strength of the steroid. These structural characteristics dramatically increase the anabolic potential of this drug, giving it an anabolic rating of 400. 

Warning: Due to its C17-alpha-alkylation, methyldrostanolone is known to exert high stress on the liver. Therefore, healthy lifestyle choices and the use of supplements to promote liver health are advisable. When using Superdrol, special attention should be paid to the liver by regularly checking the status of liver enzymes. For this reason, the recommended Superdrol cycle duration should be no more than 4 weeks.
